2026 saw closures and FID on large-scale renewables, storage and grid-adjacent assets across Iberia, the Nordics and Central Europe, with a heavy procurement pipeline in Germany, the UK and the Netherlands. This panel considers European energy transition infrastructure, asking:

• How can developers finance projects that are getting bigger, more hybrid and more merchant year on year? What funding mix (project finance, holdco, CFDs, PPAs, ECA/DFI) will be needed to support Europe’s energy transition?

• What’s the bankability gap on European energy-transition projects, and who will take the risks on construction, curtailment, basis, residual merchant, and late-life repowering?

• Consolidation and resilience of the European market
